He was the kind of guy I trusted to be a gentleman and walk me back to the dorm late at night. He was engaged to a friend of mine, but she broke it off with him shortly before I graduated. They stayed friends over the years.

Tim and I stayed in touch on Facebook, in the passive way you do with people you don't talk to on a regular basis. However, we did play Words with Friends (like Scrabble) frequently. On December 29, 2012, I started a new game with him. I had no idea his wife had died that day. Sometime within 24 hours, he made a move in the game, and we went back and forth with moves until suddenly he stopped responding. Then someone posted on his Facebook wall that he had been arrested for LeeAnn's murder.

I can't even describe how incredulous I was. I would NEVER have believed him capable of that, but when I read the news accounts and what he had already confessed, I couldn't doubt it. Honestly it shakes my faith in humanity. You think you know someone.... And it creeps me out no end to know that he was playing games with me while his wife's body was in the morgue and his mistress was moving in with him. Our thoughts are with the victim's family and for the community. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
