12032007 - Firefighter Michael Boyd - Southgate FD



 FIREFIGHTER MICHAEL BOYD, SOUTHGATE FD: DECEMBER 03, 2007.











December 03, 2007: Firefighter Michael Boyd received a speeding ticket [50mph in a 35mph zone]...less than four months after his sentencing for the August 17th assault charges. Conditions of that plea were that his thirty day sentence in jail would be suspended if he remained law abiding for the next year.

Original charges: Two counts of first degree misdemeanor assault.
Sentence: Plea agreement. Pled guilty to one count of misdemeanor assault and the other charges was dismissed. Sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended on the conditions that the law be abided by. [4/08/09]. NOTE: When Boyd accepted this plea [4/08/09] he was also facing charges for a March 30, 2009 drunk driving offense.

DETROIT (AP) - Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's press secretary has pleaded guilty to domestic violence and obstructing police. The charges stem from Matt Allen's November 2nd arrest after police responded to a 911 call at his Detroit home.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Allen entered the plea Monday in 36th District Court.

Allen has been sentenced to a year of probation, counseling, a psychiatric evaluation and substance abuse treatment.

Defense attorney Richard Steinberg would not comment on the case. The mayor's office also had no comment.

Police say Allen's wife, Tania, told them her 42-year-old husband shoved her into a wall.
