In January 2021, Michigan resident Andrew Geronimi was arrested and charged in a domestic violence incident with: One count of unlawful imprisonment; One count of felonious assault and two counts of assaulting, resisting, obstructing police. Geronimi was facing up to 21 years in prison. Additionally, at the time of his arrest, Geronimi had another domestic violence charge pending against him.
Despite the seriousness of Geronimi's crimes, he was able to bond out of jail in March 2021.
In May, Geronimi failed to appear for a court hearing and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Fast forward to August 2021: Geronimi was arrested and charged for the murder of Pleasant Hill Oregon resident Caelen Bosisto and the assault of her husband Staton.
Meanwhile, back in Michigan, the Dickinson County Prosecutor is now pointing the finger at the judge who allowed Geronimi to bond out in March. REALLY?! I wonder how many domestic violence cases the prosecutor has refused to file charges against; the number of DV cases that she allowed to be dismissed; and how many DV cases she allowed to be plea bargained under MCL 769.4a - with no concern for the safety of the victims.

According to the Norway City Police Department, officers responded to a domestic violence incident at 618 15th Avenue in Norway at 10:01 p.m. Jan. 19.
Officers were told a 33-year-old white man was armed with two knives and threatening to harm the woman who called 911. Police said the man had reportedly taken the woman hostage and would not let her leave the home.
Once arriving to the home, officers entered the home and attempted to negotiate with the man. Officers said the man refused to negotiate or comply with officer commands.
The Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) activated and team members attempted to negotiate again with the man. Again, the man refused to negotiate with the officers or CIRT.
After continued attempts to get the man to comply with officer demands, he was subdued with the use of non-lethal shotgun rounds. Officers said the man was then taken into custody and taken to the Dickinson County Jail.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, CIRT, North Alert Ambulance and Integrity ambulance assisted the Norway police with this incident.
No other details or names have been released at this time. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

33-year-old Andrew Paul Geronimi, of Kingsford, was arraigned on Jan. 20 on the following charges:
- One count of unlawful imprisonment, punishable by up to 15 years in prison
- One count of felonious assault, punishable by up to 4 years in prison
- Two counts of assaulting, resisting, obstructing police, punishable by up to 2 years in prison
His bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety, but Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards told TV6 that because he has a different domestic violence charge against him, he isn’t actually able to bond out.
Geronimi has a preliminary hearing set for 2:00 p.m. Feb 9.

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. -- A 34-year-old man was booked into the Lane County Jail Monday afternoon, accused of murdering a Pleasant Hill woman and wounding her husband.
Andrew Geronimi is charged with first-degree murder, assault and burglary and attempt to commit any degree of murder or aggravated murder.
A Lane County sheriff's spokesman said there is no known connection between Geronimi and the victims.
Caelen and Staton Bosisto were shot inside their home in the 37000 block of Highway 58 near Hilltop Drive, east of Pleasant Hill on Monday morning. Caelen was killed in the attack. Staton was shot in the head but survived. His condition is not known at this time.
Deputies responded to the residence shortly before 7 a.m. after receiving a 911 call that a person had been shot.
A family member confirmed the couple had a 2-month-old baby which was present in the home. The child was not injured.
Soon after arriving to the scene, authorities saw a man who was carrying a gun and hiding in some bushes outside the house. After a brief standoff, the man was taken into custody. On Monday evening, KEZI 9 News discovered this was not his first run-in with the law.
In January, Geronimi was arraigned on several charges related to a domestic violence hostage situation in Norway, Michigan. When asked about Geronimi, Norway police said they "know him very well."

NORWAY, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE, Aug. 10, 2021: Dickinson County law enforcement still has a warrant out for the arrest of Andrew Paul Geronimi.
According to Dickinson County Circuit Court, Geronimi posted his $15,000 bond on March 18, was released and was later scheduled for a jury trial.
Court officials said he was unable to be contacted by his attorney when he didn’t appear for a court hearing, so a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on May 21.
His warrant is still valid as of Aug. 10, 2021.

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. (WLUC) - A man on the run from charges he faces in Dickinson County has been arrested for murder in Oregon.
According to court records for Lane County, Ore., 34-year-old Andrew Paul Geronimi, originally of Kingsford, is facing a felony second-degree murder charge, along with attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault and first-degree burglary charges.
Police were called to a home on Highway 58 near Hilltop Drive in Pleaseant Hill, Ore, at 6:34 a.m. Aug. 9 for the report of a shooting.
Oregon news station KEZI reports that Geronimi shot and killed new mother, Caelen Bosisto.
Her husband, Staton Bosisto, was shot in the head, but survived and was conscious before leaving for the hospital. His current condition is unknown. The sheriff’s office says the couple’s two-month-old infant was present in the home, but was uninjured. The child was placed with family members.
Deputies were informed by Stanton that his handgun was missing from the home.
While investigating the scene, deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office spotted a man, later identified as Geronimi, with a handgun hiding in the bushes next to the driveway. After about 45 minutes, he surrendered to officers.
Geronimi was then booked into the county jail in Eugene, Ore., a short time later.
The sheriff’s office said there is still no known connection between the couple and Geronimi.
On Tuesday, Geronimi was arraigned at 1:30 p.m. pacific (4:30 p.m. eastern) on his charges in Oregon. His next court date in Oregon is Sept. 15.
A GoFundMe account has been started for memorial expenses for Caelen Bosisto and medical expenses for Staton Bosisto.
While this incident happened in Oregon, Geronimi was also wanted for charges in Dickinson County, Mich.
According to Dickinson County Circuit Court, Geronimi posted his $15,000 bond (10% cash/surety) on March 18, was released and was later scheduled for a jury trial.
In an original story, the Dickson County Prosecutor told TV6 that Geronimi should not be granted bond, because of a past history of domestic violence. It is unknown why the judge in this case decided to grant him bond.

A man who was wanted in Michigan after he skipped bail in May has been charged with murder in Oregon according to TV station KEZI 9. Andrew Geronimi, 34, formerly of Kingsford, Mich. was charged with first-degree murder among other felony charges after he allegedly killed a woman and shot her husband in the head Monday.
The victims have been identified as Caelen and Staton Bosisto of Pleasant Hill, Ore., Caelen was killed in the shooting, while Staton survived, however his condition is unknown. The couple's two-month-old baby was in the home at the time of the shooting, but was not injured.
Police arrested Geronimi following a brief standoff with police after he was found hiding in the bushes outside the house. He is currently lodged in the Lane County Jail. A spokesperson for the department said there are no known links between the family and Geronimi.
Geronimi was wanted in Michigan after he failed to appear for court in May to face charges from an assault in January that also ended with a police standoff. According to WLUC 6, Geronimi was arrested in January after he allegedly held a woman hostage in Dickinson County. In that incident, police had to use non-lethal shotgun ammo to subdue him and place him under arrest.
A judge granted Geronimi a $15,000 (10% cash/surety) bond in that matter, which Geronimi posted on March 18. When he failed to return to court in May, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. He is facing charges in Michigan for unlawful imprisonment and felonious assault.

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. – Investigators have identified the man accused of killing a new mother and seriously injuring her husband at their home along Highway 58 Monday.
We also now know he was a fugitive from Michigan.
Court documents accuse Andrew Paul Geronimi of shooting and killing Caelen Ann Bosisto and injuring Stanton Ryan Bosisto.
There is no known connection between the victims and the suspect, the sheriff's office said.
The couple's 8-week-old son was uninjured. He is being cared for by family and friends, according to a GoFundMe created to support the family.
The effort had raised nearly $55,000 by Wednesday afternoon.
But organizers say the baby needs more than money and have organized a drive for breastmilk and baby items.
According to local media, Geronimi was a fugitive from Michigan.
WLUC reports that Geronimi had been arrested for a domestic violence hostage situation in January of this year. However, he failed to show up for court after leaving jail in March.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a home near Hilltop Drive and Highway 58 the morning of August 9 after a 911 caller reported being shot.
They later located an armed man in the bushes, who surrendered after a standoff.
Geronimi is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and burglary. He is scheduled to be in court on September 15 for a pre-trial conference.
Information on the investigation was difficult to confirm this week as sheriff's office personnel scrambled to also assist with evacuation notices and public information duties on wildfires.
